wow nice job there. the most organized and the best review i've seen in ocn. i'll make same graphs for you there. this should really be stickied. +rep for you

(you might want to add a "clock for clock" note in the title.

also if it would be to much to ask, can you do a core for core comparison by disabling two cores with your 940be and bench it? cheers)

I've made note of the title change. And If I do the core for core thing, I'll have to do it a bit later. A bit pooped from the last few hours of testings .

Told you 3dmark03 would be a good idea

I'm amazed at the difference between the 940 and 7750. I wonder how your 940 compares against my 720BE in programs where all the cores aren't used. I bet it would be about the same?

Yeah, like I said, if you're going strictly for games, Tri-Core is where it's at. The only reason i went quad core was because after summer, I'm off to college and most likely won't upgrade for a long time.

I would imagine clock for clock the same as it's the same exact architecture with the exception that your 720 is AM3 and has another memory controller in it that allows it to work with DDR3. Other than that, with the same clocks, and the same RAM, I would imagine there would be little if any difference.

I told him to do that the day he ordered the 940, nevermind get it; he did not relish the idea.

I'm curious. Why did you do an HT overclock instead of a multi overclock on the 7750BE? it should be able to handle it no problem (in fact, i've found the 7750's to be a bit picky about HT overclocks)

For me it was the opposite. I did try just multi OC'ing it at first. Then when I found out i was getting limited with the multi at 2.9GHz, I started to OC with the FSB.

hey, you forgot the cpuz screenie of the deneb

i wish you had a better hsf so you can hit 1.5v with the kuma for a pure multi oc for a pure apples to apples comparison. or at you could have done the same fsb and multi with the deneb. but anyway, at least we should expect the deneb able to get a little bit of higher scores though.

i'm already through with the graphs though. do you have msn or yahoo so i can send em to you? i already have the calculations of the differences in the test too if you like
