damn i dont want to toast my cpu trying to bump the vcore to get the 4th core workin....

tried with vcore at 1.424v with the 4th core unlocked .....wen windows vista boot it freeze ....

tried with windows xp pro 32 bit with 4th core enabled with cpu northbridge downclocked to 1600mhz with everything else set to auto (vcore , etc...) and sucessfully loaded in windows xp but it freeze when i tried to start a program...

what should i do ?

youre using f5 bios and set acc to auto and use HYBIRD firmware right? nvm you are, well if thats the case then, sorry buddy, you got a REAL stud there, forget about x4 now, just oc the crap outta it at x3. enjoy.

I also believe that unlocking is motherboard + bios dependent. Whether that 4th core is stable is another story, and stability is chip dependent.

Hi,

I just purchased X3 720 with mobo GA-MA790XT-UD4P. I updated my BIOS to F4G. When I go to BIOS options, set EC Firmware Selection to "Hybrid" and set ACC to "Auto". My XP SP3 freezes when Windows Logo appears in boot. I tried BIOS version F4 and same issue. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Is that the latest BIOS?
The latest BIOS won't allow you to enable ACC. I tried and freeze.

Latest BIOS is F4G. Mine freezes both with F4G(latest) and with F4(the one before the latest). Do I need to change another setting? I am reading Vcore and CPU-NB values but I do not know how to change them.

Subbed, Good thread.

Need to add guaranteed boards and bios versions, IE Biostar and Gigabyte are the only 2 I know of so when I go this route This will be the thread for me.
