I did that, and the test ran a lot longer than it has been, about 5min longer to be exact... Should i bump it up further? how far is safe? I have a fan on my NB/SB heatsinks on my motherboard FYI.

Try 1.35v for processor-nb but lower your cpuvcore to 1.52v

:O I thought in the 940 steppings thread (this had to be months ago) that you had ~3.91Ghzstable.
Well best of luck. I'm just shy of 4.0GHz myself, but I'm not even sure if I'll hit it (going for 1hr occt first)

And yes, but that was with a different CPU and i actually got it to a stable 3.9, but it did it will ease, this one is proving very difficult, actually impossible so far... The other one got sold to my cousin when i got into a bind with money (laid off from work), and i am kicking myself in the ass now because this one seems to want to stop at 3.7ghz, unless there is something magical that i am missing.

also tried turning on the ACC thing with no luck... I went back to test out the 3.7ghz overclock just to make sure it was still fine and working and it runs like a champ, i just can't seem to get any further for some reason with this dang chip. Have i officially reached as far as it will go?

For a clock speed of 3.8ghz, I think your CPU-NB frequency has to be around 2400mhz.
__________________Reference: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=596023 Drop your multiplier and voltage back to stock - 14x and 1.35v? Increase your Processor-NB frequency to 2400mhz, or 12x multiplier. Increase your Processor-NB voltage to 1.25v. Run prime95 blend test. The full cycle of tests, from 8k to 4096k, should take 11-12 hours. Do this overnight. Enable "Round off error checking" If it passes, increase your multiplier back to 19x. Increase Processor voltage to 1.525, and leave CPU-NB at 2400mhz and 1.25v. Prime95 blend and see. EDIT: In general, for prime95 testing, if you get errors at small fft lengths, i.e. 8k, 10k, 14k, etc, it means your processor is unstable and you need to bump up vcore. If you start faililng around 512k - 1024k, it means your processor-nb is unstable or you have ram problems. You should have run memtest beforehand to verify your ram works. Therefore, bump up processor-nb voltage. I wouldn't go higher than 1.35v.

What are you thinking. Going from 3.7Ghz to 3.8Ghz??? That's not smart. You need to hit 3.72Ghz, then 3.74Ghz, ECT. before you think of going 3.8Ghz. YOUR CHIP MAY NOT BE CAPABLE OF 3.8GHz STABLE.
With lower northbridge frequencies, theory says you should be able to overclock more but sometimes higher frequencies may help. Majority of the time it is the ram that now prohibits and higher OC. It just cannot do anything so you get BSOD. Higher NB sometimes helps.Try lower and higher Northbridge but remember this: 3.8GHz at 2000MHz NB may not be any faster then 3.74GHz at 2800MHz. So what is the sense of 3.8GHz I ask? You can run these chips over 1.55GHz temps permitting. Some run 1.6V but they are saying this is OK as long as temps do not exceed 55 under load. I run 1.55V at around 3.7GHz just to give you a reference. I also run my NB 2800-3000 with 1.4-1.5 CPU/NB Volts. Try lowering your memory timings to 6/6/6/23. I saw you were on 5/5/5/18. Get to 3.72 or 3.74 before you even phantom 3.8GHz.
