So I just picked up a cheap ASUS M2R32-MVP board so I can crossfire, my original plan was to use this mobo as a spare PC as my parents will soon be split and I'll have two bedrooms, and I was going to buy an AM3 board and a Phenom II, but what is the best CPU I can get on this board, does anyone know if a BIOS update will allow it to support any of the AM3's??

if it supports am2+ phenom II, most will support am3

![]() OP I say get a decent CPU, like a 7750 Kuma and see what you can do it with on that mobo. You just won't be able to get everything out of that CPU, but the lesser CPUs that are available are around the same price right now, so why not get more for your $$$. If you want to push the CPU and unlock cores, you can always opt for a better mobo later on. BTW Sorry to hear about your parents

thanks for the replies guys, I think this board supports the original phenoms so I really wanna try find a 9950 BE to get the most out of this temp setup, has anyone actually managed to work out if you can put phenom IIs in it yet cause a 9950 BE is actually more expensive than a nice PHII 550 BE which I'd much prefer!!

AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Kuma is a godo one for this.
You should be able to get the PH11 550BE in this board. I am around 85% sure you can. Hope it helps!
