I'm bummin' I just can't get this thing to boot into Windows past 4.06Ghz. And to make it worse for just straight out validation is that AMD Overdrive acts weird when I try to use it. I'll go in, and say increase something and when I hit 'apply', it will jump one or more settings through the roof, like PCI freq.(up to 284Mhz~!), or HT volts, or even the HT ref freq. The bad part is that it is applying a lot of these settings when it does this! So I have to try and re-set it and apply again and hope it doesn't do it again, which it does a lot of the time. Then, of course, you're stuck with the settings amd has set, no way to cancel it!

I can validate stock settings at like 1.2125 volts, but here is the best I have been able to get so far:



If I even try to get into Windows beyond that it bsod's and reboots right away before finishing loading Windows.

Hopefully it will get better, I guess I'm not very good at this o/c'ing stuff, I just can't seem to get anything good out of this.

alot of chips wont even boot at 4.0 at all. if you want a higher validation i think its time for you to start overclocking from within windows. amd overdrive is the way to go

Problem with that is that I can't use AMD Overdrive because of the issues it gives me. I've tried re-installing, running as admin, setting compatibility to run as admin, as well as run in Vista sp2 compatibility mode.

This is even the case on a freshly installed O/S, on a new drive.

Anybody else run into problems trying to use AMD Overdrive? Am I not setting something in the bios that is causing this weird behaviour?
