well i did the oc using the bios and it went great

at 14 benchmark for 6200 something
i did it to 14.5 and everything looked fine benchmark adn stability were good
at 14.5 it was 6600
then i did 15.5 then it came up to 7200 something

once i bumped up to 16 which is my goal right now ... the benchmark number went back down to 6300 something

is that normal or shd i go back to 15.5 or do something else to figure this out??

Thanks a lot for the insight guys.
I seem to have found a relatively stable sweet spot at 17.5x @ 1.47 vcore.
I also recently switched to a different isp and without internet for awhile so i wasn´t able download prime95 during my internet downtime. So I did a 24hr Brawl test on dolphin at max settings and the 720 took it like a champ.
I check my temps through everest and I get 30 idle and 51-54 at load, keep in mind im on stock cooling.

One thing though... I´m a little worried bout my temps, and after doing a little bit of investigating I found out that 3.5ghz @ 1.45 seems to be the norm. I just don´t know why I´m not able to achieve that... at 1.45 I bsod at around 30 mins and at 1.46 at almost an hour.

any ideas?

I got my Phenom II X3 720 BE up to 3.4GHz @ 1.4V stable. I was using 1.35V but after a few days I started getting some memory dumps and crashes and I didn't know what was causing them. I bumped it up to 1.4 and they went away. I'm scared to overclock it any more for temperature reasons. I like it when I can stay under 40*C on full load!

looks like I spoke too soon... began to encounter blue screens albeit during long gaming sessions that require alot of cpu activity. i bumped it up to 1.48, but no go. I´m currently at 1.5 volts which is the highest that im willing to go, but on the bright side it seems much more stable then ever. my temps have seem to have been affected quite a bit...
30 idle and 55-59 at max load. it usually hovers around 55 when gaming, but do u guys think that its safe to be at that voltage with those temps? I´d really like to know!

I used to run 3.5 at 1.45v stable. I brought it down to 3.2 at stock at the moment.
