Default Need Help!!Amd Phenom II x4 deneb 3.0GHz black edition processor not working

Hi everyone i just ordered an
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor - Retail

to replace my AMD 64 X2 5200+ processor but when i put it in the computer it turns on and all the fans are running but the screen is just black

when i put the 5200 back in it runs fine and i updated the bios but still no luck

I have an Antec Basiq 500watt power supply, 3Gb of ram, Pny geforce 9800gt 512mb ddr3 graphics card, and an ASUS a8m2n-la motherboard (which is an AM2 socket), and im running Windows XP Pro Service pack 3

Any help or suggestions is much appreciated THANKYOU

I hate to say it but you may need to buy a new motherboard that supports AM2+ for your cpu... your current motherboard does not seem to support any of the newer processors.

What if i flashed the bios? Would this make the motherboard able to use the newer processor or no?
