What do yall thin would be the safest OC for this opty on air, I had it up to 2.5, but i have sense backed it back down to 1.9, I'll probly jack it back up, but I backed it down because I don't have the cheese to replace it, if it gets cooked.

LCB9E's were among the last steppings of the 939 Opterons, I wouldn't be surprised if those hit 2.7-2.8 on stock volts.

Are you running on the stock cooler?

I had an older Opteron 165 that did 2.8GHz with a modest voltage increase.

Try taking yours higher, you aren't going to "cook it" without a massive voltage jump.

had my opty 165 @ 2.8 ghz with 1.325 volts on an Asus a8r32-mvp deluxe. Delidded and under a Big Typhoon, prime95 load @ 48'C.

For$aken

my opty 165 is running @2.5 with 1.4 volts. My load temp is 50c idles @33. just make sure you have plenty of airflow, and a good cpu cooler.

it depends on your stepping.. my opty165 does 2.8ghz (1ghz oc) with just a .5mV bump..so..yea..if you got a good stepping it can definitely go higher. and seeing from your sig, those lcb9e's - most of em are atleast 2.7 on stock. so i wouldnt worry too much if i were you, just watch for temps. you'd want temps to be below 55C on load.
