Default stay or go with 965?

My brain is telling me i have done wrong getting the 955.... basically i was going to get a motherboard that supports ddr3 quite soon. What held me back not getting the 965 was that my motherboard currently only supported 125w, but now i am going for a ddr3 motherboard that supports 140W with the ddr3 which i can now support 965!

I am thinking of getting a refund and splashing out extra on the 965 only thing that is putting me towards that is the standard clocks are higher by 200mhz and i might see abit better performance in gaming maybe? I know i can gain the 200mhz by overclocking but i am not a overclocker and have no clue on how to go about overclocking.

Is this worth doing or shall i just stick with the 955?

Stick with the 955, if your not into overclocking no sense in spending the money for such a small pump in speed. If you want you can do a tiny overclock to get you the speeds of the 965 by following the overclock guides in the stickies at the top of the page.

To be honest I wish i went with a 965 but im perfectly happy with the 955 I Have

Personally I had the same problem and made the jump to the 965 and am loving it ever since. If you plan to overclock get the 965 for sure. I heard of people getting close to 4.5Ghz when I had trouble getting my 955 to 3.9Ghz. So yeah IMO its worth it. (Btw am testing my 4.0Ghz OC now. )

So far your saying get the 965 just for the overclocking side of things.... But what difference will i see with a 965 in games and a 955 in games? Much difference at all?

At higher clocks, you'll notice 1-3 FPS of a difference probably. Nothing, in my opinion, to spend the extra 50+ dollars for.

I'd say keep the 955 BE. Plus AMD is coming out with a new 965 BE with lower wattage. Might want to keep your eye on that.
