Hello, I am relatively new to overclock.net and I was thinking about asking you guys a question;

I have a Amd Athlon XP 2500+ and I can clock it to 1833mhz, but when I try 2200mhz, it changes the ram frequency higher than it can go.

Is there any way around that?

It does allow me to do it, but crashes shortly after, and I could see a definite speed improvement, so if it was possible I would like to oc it.

Whats your ram?
The higher you throw the reference clock, the faster the ram will run. The divider then kicks in to compensate and you get back at stable speeds for the ram. This is assuming those processors have an integrated memory controller.

Well, its only ddr ram, in the bios there is a warning not to set the DRAM frequency higher than 333. When I overclock the CPU to 2200mhz it changes that frequency to 400, so I'm guessing that is why it crashes. Although I'm not sure.

Thats a little high on the voltage man. Today I Oc'd a 780G motherboard with a 4050e processor with two pairs mixed matched sticks of ram rated at different speeds to 3.0Ghz @1.424 volts. I could have gone away with more speed. And this was value ram.
My multi is locked @ 10x.

Nice clocks on the Sempron. I don't think the vcore is that high at all...if it was 1.7, I would worry.

I seem to have hit a brick wall OC'ing my 3200+. Here's the max I can get (not stable mind you):

The max vcore my board will support is 1.550v, though it bumps slightly higher. Any higher than this, I get a BSOD. Tried lowering the HT link, BSOD even with these settings. My RAM is Corsair DDR400 3-3-3-8, and my mobo is the K8U-X. It doesn't look like I can change the frequency of the RAM, but I can do a hell of a lot besides that it looks like, I'm just not sure what to mess with.

Temps aren't a problem either, at full load, those settings were giving me ~47C or so.

Ideas?

Y'know that's a 65nm sempron you're talking about here, not a 90nm

Yeah, I know. Still, I don't think the vcore is all that high. On tech-forums, we call 1.7 vcore suicide runs, haha.
