3. AMD don't use the *000 model naming any more.

4. Then you look at this an actual Athlon II x2 250 box you'll see what I mean.

I am really not trying to be an a** but this is not it.
1. Deneb cores have 512KB of L2 per core
2. http://products.amd.com/en-us/Deskto...il.aspx?id=607
3. It seems they do.
4. ?

Another note.
These are AM2+, not AM3.

Whats the bloody point
The 5000+ only came in Windsor and Brisbane flavour, want to second guess me have a look in the AM2 segment.

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...2695#anchor_os (also scroll down)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2600Mhz 512KBx2 Windsor 90nm F3 65W 2000 F1

I can't believe people are taking this for gold.

These are the only Athlon II releases yet (am3 all of them none of the Am2)

AMD Athlon II X3 400e 2200Mhz 512KBx3 N/A Rena 45n C2 45W 4000 F7

Also the 620 ,630 (but as you can clearly see they haven't used the 5000 eg naming for a while)

All I am saying is that the product on New Egg is wrong and looking at the CPUZ it looks like one of the above Cpu's, but the description on new egg sounded like A 720 BE.

This doesn't prove anything, yep it's an athlon but what one. Well for arguments sake if AMD did revive the naming scheme then why?
Sorry fail....in that pic of CPU z it says Phenom FX 5000, people are saying it's an Athlon how do you get PHENOM FX from ATHLON X2 5000+ please enlighten me.

Also did you not look at the pics of the boxing of the two CPU's I posted (and please keep in mind AMD changed their box design to the black and blue with the brisbane CPU's).

Well I just don't know, I do apologize for arguing but all this just doesn't add up.
I just don't see AMD refreshing an old line of CPU's.
I just think this is all fluff, I hear what you are saying but I just don't see it happening.
I have used AMD for all my computers since 1997 and they have done nothing like it before.
Also I looked at the CPU z HondaGuy showed me and now just like magic the cpu has 4 MB L3 cache, if this chip is for real it would have a max 1mb per core L2.

I can clearly see what you are pointing out, it's the CPU z that confuses me.
it says AMD Phenom FX 5000 + then that AMD product over view says 512 kb L2 and no L3
then the CPU z says 4MB L3.

I can fathom a reason.
They could be getting rid of AM2+ deneb cores unfit to be PhII 920's and 940's.
Maybe they kept the old 4 digit number naming system to differentiate from the AM3 Athlons.
