AM2+ Deneb coming in '08, AM3 in '09
With AMD's upcoming 45-nm Deneb Phenom offering faster clock speeds as well as IPC improvements, AMD enthusiasts are eager to get their hands on the processor. While previous reports have suggested that Deneb won't see the light of day until 2009, DigiTimes reports that AMD will launch AM2+ Deneb CPUs ranging from 2.6-3.0GHz later this year. We'll then see DDR3-based AM3 CPUs in Q1'09.

According to DigiTimes, the AM2+-based Deneb will have a short lifespan: AMD will phase out the processor by June of next year.

I didn't think they where re bashing it, the *000 name scheme and it was replaced a year later with the Athlon II x2/x4 240, 245,250,620,630.
So lucky buggers who got them then...lol, it was just a case of misinformed OP.
I just found it weird that the CPUZ the OP submitted said , in the name field (k10) then in the codename field it said nothing.

That's not too shabby, I was just pointing out that those so called new 45nm 5000+ are not new.
Actually I would be surprised if you can get one now since the Athlon II was made to replace the old Athlon 64 x2 *000 models.

I did SuperPI on my Windsor 6000+ here's the results.

Intel renamed theirs also, like the two E6300's. What's so hard to understand!

What does this have to do with the price of egg's in china?. I know that they renamed but what I was saying is that they don't use the *000 eg 6000+ naming anymore, whats so hard to understand in that also.

Well what do you want them to call it then?

They can't use "1XX" because it's reserved for the Semprons

"2XX" is reserved by the AM3 Athlons
....etc

Has anyone here ordered one and unlocked it? I'm close to pulling the trigger on one of these and a 785 board for $119.

All I am saying is that it's oldish stock, it has been replaced with the Athlon II 245, 250
is it really that hard of a pill to swallow ?.
In the info I found about it, it was released in 08 and was only meant to be in circulation until June this year.
How is this new?,ask the OP as far as I can see it's old stock and has been renamed by AMD to the ATHLON II.
As I said AMD don't use that type of naming anymore.

IT IS OLD STOCK IT HAS BEEN OUT FOR A YEAR
