is it really that hard of a pill to swallow ?.
In the info I found about it, it was released in 08 and was only meant to be in circulation until June this year.
How is this new?,ask the OP as far as I can see it's old stock and has been renamed by AMD to the ATHLON II.
As I said AMD don't use that type of naming anymore.

IT IS OLD STOCK IT HAS BEEN OUT FOR A YEAR
well if the op would chime in and say were he found this info or maybe posts some links it would clear alot up as of now in my eyes with the op and newegg theres 2 dif sources

also it would be nice to be able to view what the reviews buy form newegg lol to see if they actually have that product

I really am trying not to step on any ones toes, but where is the sense in bringing a new CPU out and naming it under the old naming system?.

back to page one and the link to NewEgg is there.
Whether it's new at this point is irrelivant, I think all anyone cares about now is confirming that this is in fact true. A $55 quad core, if you've got an ACC board, would be great. It looks like people are getting around 3.2GHz out of them so that would be even better.
It's an AM2+ Deneb so I'm thinking I'm going to grab one of these and a cheaper ACC board and snap together a cheap, new rig. How are the 760G boards? The Biostar one I'm looking at has a 710 southbridge so I'm guessing it has ACC. Or should I just grab a 785G board?

I do agree with you guys, it's just that the thread says new 5000+ which is BS it's old the new is the Athlon II.
But if this is indeed correct then what a bargain grab em while they are hot.
Now this unlocking thing that I see everywhere does it only work on the 710 SB's or does it also work on the 750 SB.

Pros: Affordable, Good Performance, Hidden Capabilities

Other Thoughts: This CPU is truly a hidden gem. Don't let the name throw you off, because this is a crippled Phenom II X4 Quad Core cpu with its L3 cache disabled, along with half of ithe L2 cache disabled that's underclocked. This CPU with a little tweaking and overclocking through the Bios using an AM2+ ATI 790GX/780G motherboard that can enable ACC, can be turned into a Phenom II X4 Quad Core CPU for only 59 bucks! Some people have already done it. How can you tell if this CPU is a crippled Phenom II X4? The "CACVC" markings on this CPU ID indicates that's its using the "Deneb core" which are what the Phenom II X4 uses. So there you have it, with a little tweaking and overclocking you caa turn this CPU into the cheapest Phenom II X4 CPU that money can buy.
OK, that part is pure rubbish! Take away the L3 and some L3 and no matter how you stack it up, it's NOT a PhII!

Wasn't some of the early screenies of the deneb's clocked that low? I'm getting teh hunch that this was an early deneb...

Edit: Just hit me, the early denebs didnt have a name like that...

It has 6MB of L3 cache and 4 cores after being unlocked. They are also overclocking to ~3.2GHz pretty regularly based on the thread at XS.

Boards with 710/750 southbridges that have ACC will unlock cores/cache.
