Yeah, I know the low multi will hurt my overclocking chances, but considering I turned a dual into a quad for $55, I will be happy with the stock 2.2ghz if nothing else.

I know most have been getting around 2.5 - 2.6 and some at or above 3.0

If you leave it as a dual then I have seen as high as 3.5ghz, but I think the quad will better serve my purposes (multitasking and video editing/conversion).

I bought the newegg combo and had this system running for couple of days without any issues. I was fortunate that it unlocked to quad + L3 cache.

Below are images of my cpu-z. Take a look at them and tell me what I need to adjust if there are any problems. I'm kind of a novice and not sure if I've made optimal adjustment.

Been using this setup for the last 2 days w/o any issues..

I wonder if these CPUs would pass a day of prime completely unlocked.

but WHY in the name of Jesus you need to stress a cpu 24 hours straigth in prime or orthos ? do the ppl really streess the cpus that hard for every day usage ? i don´t think so.. for me, 2 hours os prime is MORE than enough for a stable overclock..

It's an AM2+ Deneb so I'm thinking I'm going to grab one of these and a cheaper ACC board and snap together a cheap, new rig. How are the 760G boards? The Biostar one I'm looking at has a 710 southbridge so I'm guessing it has ACC. Or should I just grab a 785G board?
The benchmarks aren't nearly enough to make it of any use. For 10 dollars more you can get a 7750 that will clock higher and still has the option to unlock more cores, if you're lucky. The Kuma will also clock to around 4GHz.

One of the benchmarks was the 5000+ with an HD4870, and the 3DMark score was 13028. My 7750 + 8800GTS got an 11608. A first generation 8800GTS 320. Also, my motherboard's HT link speed is only 1800MHz, so there's some bottlenecking. The benchmarks look worse. I'll run some benchmarks of the 7750when I get home. It just doesn't seem work it for a 1.5k increase on 3DMark, especially when that 1.5k is probably because of the better GPU.

Some people like to have Folding@home or other CPU extensive tasks 24/7.

Just an update here to my X2 5000+ (aka Phenom FX5000 aka Phenom II X4), I was able to get a stable 2.8Ghz overclock (from 2.2Ghz). I haven't tried to push it any higher than that yet, but that was without adjusting the voltage, so I think I got a good chip . I may try to push it further later on, right now I am in the middle of installing Windows 7. After I get it all setup I will try to post some screenshots.

Edit: Added screenies.

Edit: One more screenshot, this time at 3.0Ghz
