Default 3.8ghz on a 955

hi guy's

I would like some advise with my oc.

I am currently running my sig rig @.

3.711@1.475v fully stable, temps are at 26/27 idle and 37/40 full load in prime.

I realy want to hit that 3.8 mark, but what i don't is to dramaticly shorten the life of my system.

I can get 3.8@1.5250 stable with idle temps of 29/30 and load of 45/47.

everyone is saying dont go over 1.5, but amd say's between 0.875 and 1.55 is safe.

I want my system to last at least 2 years, till we get bulldozzer chips.

Will i get the life span with my desired setting's

+rep

If your temps are fine which they are then you can run 1.55 but 1.5 is better.

I ran my 720 BE @ 3.8 24/7 On 1.535 Volts.

This is not true....You can easily run over 1.55V with proper cooling. As long as temps stay under 55 under load your good to go. I run 1.575-1.6V and overclock stable @ 4.09Ghz. these chips do not degregate as long as temps are solid.

Get rid of that Thermalbreak cooling you have. It is simply the worst cooling you can buy. I run 50 degrees full load at 1.6V with my sig cooling at full load..35 ish idle.

dont waste your money on kits, give your budget on watercooling and im sure more knowledgeable members can put together a decent set of parts that will be much better than any kit.

Hitting 3.8 was easy, getting a stable 4.0 ghz, that will be a challenge!

I have my 4.21 CPU-Z validation posted but I have learned virtualy nothing working with a unlocked multiplier CPU. Just keep the volts up,keep it cool and set the multiplier. Do I want more than 4.21? not until I have a replacement CPU in hand.

Next is a Q6600, I know not so challenging either but at least I will be exposed to some Intel techniques.
