Default phenom II 920 broken?

I have a phenom II 920 running at 3.2 ghz, its been this way since Ive owned my system and I do everything at this speed, computer is on 24/7 with not 1 problem. The other day my 3 year old got into my bios, changed some values (not sure what ones) and then the computer sat on a failed post for about 7 hours until i got home from work. Now i get freezes as soon as windows boots, unless I set everything to my normal overclocked speeds (3.2ghz) and voltages (1.4v). It seems to me (probably a bad guess) that this speed has been 'burned' into my chip and it fails on any other setting. Even default values and 'fail safe' settings get me freezes. I am very adept with computers, but I cant deduct my issue by swapping parts because I dont have any other am2+ chips or 1066 ram to swap and troubleshoot. I tried a fresh HD and install of windows, and the installer freezes also unless i go back to those specific settings, so ive at least deducted software out of the problem all together. Has anyone ever heard of a chip becoming damaged and only running at a certain clock speed? Im going to reflash my bios with the current version this afternoon, but I am really stumped here guys, would love some insight please.

Im guessing either a damaged chip or the mobo got fried, (but games run great still), and please dont tell me to just run it at my normal overclock and shut up, my wife already told me that.

Have you tried removing the cmos battery then put it back in to reset the bios? Then try the stock clocks again.

Wow you cured my entire paragraph rant with two short sentences.

I remember telling myself to do try it, and forgot when i couldnt find the battery, its directly underneath the first gpu.

Or you could move the jumper to clear the CMOS, which is usually faster and less hassle.

I've messed around so much in my bios could tell you the exact setting of everything though lol.
