Hello all! As the title states, I am new to overclocking. Currently, I am overclocked to 3.6GHz with a Phenom II X4 955 BE with the stock cooler. It's @ 58C when using Prime95. The question is, how long should I run Prime95 to consider it being stable? The longest I ran it for was around an hour. Also, are the temps running hot?

It is debatable but if a day is doable it's 99.9999999999999% stable.

Another thing to consider I am running at 3.3 Ghz with my sig rig (Need to update it), so you may be able to go higher.

For some reason, I don't think I can change my CPU voltages in bios.. I do not know why. But before I OC further, i'm thinking about purchasing a ZALMAN CNPS9900LED. Is that a good cooler for Overclocking?

There's no point causing un nessersery ware on you component's 4-8 hours is plenty. 90% of oc'ing problem's will be picked up in the first 10 min's.
but i would advise you to get a better cpu cooler if you want to oc 24/7 and get up to the 3.8/4.0ghz mark. the stock heat sink that came with your 955 is fine for stock speed's but nothing more. spend 30-50£ or 40-60$ and you will see results.

I don't know my cpu is cooled by the stock cooler (it's the size of a fist) and the highest I've seen it is 45*C
You are typically able to go higher with an odd CPU multi and then raising the Reference clock, changing the NB and HT multis to keep them near (Preferably below) 2150 Mhz along with dropping the memory multi a notch. (I am using stock volts)

Alright thanks for the feedback.I will buy a new CPU cooler and try overclocking further. Hopefully it'll all be smooth.
