Tried my first overclock last night and i think i broke my cpu. I sat the voltage wrong and the computer wouldent boot so i reseted the cmos and pulled out the little battery. Then it booted, i went in to the bios and changed everuthing to default. Then when i tried restarting it crashed. When i tried again smoke started coming from the cpu. Tried one more time after that and same problem settings default and when i try to boot it crashes. Btw i have a 750a mobo.

agreed; hopefully it's just the CPU and not the motherboard as well, but it could be a possibility
got a spare sitting around to throw in and give it a try?

If You saw smoke from the CPU it's broken, there's no chance Your CPU can survive this.

actually.... but if cpu OR the mobo is doing that, wouldn't it be dangerous to test another CPU or Mobo with it??

I doubt the actual CPU burned, but maybe (more than likely) the motherboard blew.
