I've unlocked the fourth core and am wondering what tests to run to make sure it's stable. So far I've only run OCCT for ten minutes, 100% on all four cores and it comes back with no problems. In CPUZ the steppings all seem fine, it's clocking down to 800mhz when idle , 1.025v.
Are there other tests I need to run ?

that should be it if you are comfortable with it. Its only if you start having crashes ect. that you need to start doing some serious stress testing.

Ok thanks.
I'm more than happy with it. I'll try pushing it a bit more, anyone have any luck with the temp readings ? I can't find a program that works.

I believe once you unlock the extra core, the temp sensors don't seem to work properly. The only sensor you should be able to read is the CPU sensor (instead of cores), so you'll just have to guess from there.

Thanks for the heads up pioneerisloud R+
I'll give it a run for an hour , OCCT ok for these tests ? Cooling shouldn't be an issue , it's just nice too be sure and see the difference.

Blend has been shown to be alot more stressing on the 4th core's, so i would let that run for a few hours. I also recommend LinX as that seems to do the job well too.

Yea, Prime95 8-12 hours at least with no error. You want to make sure the cores are stable at load otherwise you will run into file corruption down the line, have an unstable operating system and have to reinstall windows, your drivers and potentially lose any files you have saved.
__________________Basically running the cores at 100% for several hours +12 idealy will find any instability if one is there. It also ensures you have proper cooling. Running the CPU at max temps for that long generates a lot of heat and its a very good way to establish if your cooling method is good enough. It takes up a bunch of time its totally worth it. If youre going to do any overclocking or unlocking of cores its highly reccomended you run this test to ensure you have a stable system for the long term. Good luck with your chip.

This is wrong. You need at least 3 hours of blend test. NB gets fully stressed at 2-1/2 hrs at 512K.

which OCCT are you using, use Linpack if you aren't already, its the ITB of AMD run it for 15minutes if you're good then I would say you are pretty stable then for assurance use Prime95 for 9-10 hours
