Thumbs down Bottleneck with my overclock?

Hi, here is my system:

AMD Phenom X3 "Toliman" 8450 (2.1 to 2.9Ghz) with Corsair H50 and Gelid GC-Extreme
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Bios F8a
Team Xtreem Dark DDR2 Dual Channel PC-1066 4Gb
Palit 9800GT Super+ 1Gb
Seagate 500gb 32mb 7200.11 sata
HEC 500w Raptor Power

My FSB is set to 277 (the above setting is stable with OCCT up to 12 hours)
I have set my memory to PC-800 and is now running at 554 Mhz.

I am not stable at 278 FSB.

Thanks in advance to you all

i didnt know those amd chips could get to 3ghz....i assumed it was common knowledge that they werent good overclockers?

If thats the case, then your bottleneck could be the cpu lol

Well, the first Phenom CPUs were actually kinda crappy, but not crappy enough to hold back a single 9800GT.

Plus, you OCed your CPU, so you are most definitely fine.

Thanks for the replies. Well it was really sort of "crappy" actually. I was short on budget that time (lol) and I wanted to get the AM2+ CPU. And at that time, that was my only option.. Thanks again

No def not a bottleneck there, you could run much more powerful cards with a ~3GHz x3

Its a Phenom cpu, so it should run 1066. You'll have to manually adjust it in the bios. Unless you're saying that the cpu-z is showing you its running 554, then it is probably running 1066. Could be off a litte I think.

I have really set my memory to run at 800. Since I am overclocking using only the FSB, the memory would eventually run at PC 1066++ like right now, its on 1108.. I just don't know if it is a good idea for that ram to run at PC 1066 + 277 FSB.. XD
