Question How to make out the difference?

Was looking through the amd site and i see that sempron 140 has 1mb L2 cache but at the amd store it shows its only 512kb L2 cache..

The spec: http://products.amd.com/en-gb/Deskto...f11=False&f12=

The store:http://wheretobuy.amd.com/prodinfo/1....html?info_tab

the serial number for both the box is also same so if there is two different items how to find the diff? Please help..

It must be 512 KB x 2. But Newegg lists 1 MB as well. But I've noticed that when it's 512 KB x 2, Newegg shows it. But not on here.

However, I remember calling Newegg one time about some specifications for some Cooler Master case. I wanted to know if they could check the open box item in the warehouse to grab more specifications that were not listed anywhere else. But their response was that the specifications they list are the specifications on the outside of the box, or they are provided by the manufacturer (and included with the product).

So, 1 MB is most likely what it is.

thankx for the fast reply..

I would also like to know if for the same amd sempron 140 processor can i use GA-MA785GM-US2H since amd recommends GA-MA785GMT-US2H, since sempron 140 has AM3 socket , will it work with GA-MA785GM-US2H ?

AM3 is backwards compatible with AM2+ and AM2, as long as the CPU is on said motherboard's support list.

The Sempron 140 is a single core CPU. Since the 2nd core is disabled, the single core has access to all the L2 cache.

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) If you have a question, it is not news (6) Report, not respond to Spam (7) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular

Oh, so it's a dual core CPU with the 2nd core disabled.
