It must be 512 KB x 2. But Newegg lists 1 MB as well. But I've noticed that when it's 512 KB x 2, Newegg shows it. But not on here.
However, I remember calling Newegg one time about some specifications for some Cooler Master case. I wanted to know if they could check the open box item in the warehouse to grab more specifications that were not listed anywhere else. But their response was that the specifications they list are the specifications on the outside of the box, or they are provided by the manufacturer (and included with the product). So, 1 MB is most likely what it is.

AM3 is backwards compatible with AM2+ and AM2, as long as the CPU is on said motherboard's support list.

The Sempron 140 is a single core CPU. Since the 2nd core is disabled, the single core has access to all the L2 cache.
