Default Quick question about a AMD athlon 64

Hey guys so i have a old HP slimline pc that i been parting out. My friend wanted to have a lan party at my place.. but couldnt bring up his rig because of its size. Since i know nothing about AMD would a AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core 5400+ and was thinking of putting a 8800gt in it. .. i was wondering if this would be good enough to play left4dead2?

It would run, and it would probably be quite playable (though rather CPU limited) with an 8800GT.

However, that system won't take a full height card, and I don't know of any low profile 8800GTs.

In that case, you should be fine, if the PSU can handle it.

Obviously it's going to run better on more powerful systems, but I think it would run well enough to be enjoyable on the 5400+.

The original L4D used the same engine, and a 5000+ could handle it with and acceptable minimum frame rate:

They are using a much better GPU in that test and if anything were more CPU limited.
