Default Athlon x2 5000+ BE core voltage question

Hey I just finished OC'ing my athlon X2 5000+ BE (brisbane) to 3.2Ghz and it runs stable, but the core voltage that shows up in cpu-z / hardware monitor seems a bit high at 1.552 V. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

temps:
ambient 21C
idle 40C
load 70C

Well, your load temps are getting close, they need to stay under 75*C load.

But your Core Voltage is fine, you are good up till 1.65v according to AMD.

Seems a bit high compared to what? You did take the the vcore off auto right... lol

You are running wayyy too hot

Get off that stock cooler

$30 bucks will get you some good air bro

You won't toast your cpu, but good luck with stability at that temp

Stay under 60c.

Set the vcore to 1.4v and see how high you can go, then gradually up it. 3.2ghz is about as quick as your gunna get with a brisbane

Your ht is a bit high as well

Drop your ldt to 800mhz

ok thanks, gonna get 2 good fans for my xiggy and put them in push pull and do a pressure mod since it seems to be kind of loose on the mobo.

1.55v just seemed like an unsafe voltage to run at, and my ht is locked at 1000mhz in my current bios version, but I might downgrade to an older version where it was unlocked if I end up needing too and if control over the actual core voltage is included and not just the VID. Also check my specs cooler is not stock...

Thats not a stock cooler.

What are your ambients? as that will have a big effect on your temps.

ambients are around 21c

Its weird the xiggy attached in the front to back position with the normal am2 mounting hardware, but it seems that the hardware does not apply enough pressure (can twist and slightly slide the cpu cooler) I think thats where i'm losing out on cooling. guess I will have to get the custom mount along with better fans when I get a chance.

See nafljhy, he's got custom mounting for the AM2 and xiggy dark knights. While your at it get yourself some good quality tim such as ocz freeze, mx-3, ic7 but those are some of the best.

How much tim did you apply? You should only need half a grain sized dot in the middle and let the pressure spreed it for you.

Thanks for the advice

I just scanned over it quick, saw stock and ya lol

Remount it, and while it's out check it

Might need to be lapped badly

I could put 1.55 through my old 5400+ and didn't break 60c with my crappy blue orb II
