does anyone know a processor faster than a athlon 64 3400+
i found ones for mobile but i don't think that would help
and any info would help out greatly

go to newegg.com and look for processors, there are tons faster than your 3400 that can easily be found there at lowest market prices.

Your other options are basically 3500+, 3800+, or 4000+

i did and for socket 754amd the only thing faster than a 3400 is a 3700 which is mobile acording to newegg

If are looking to upgrade, I would get a new mobo and go for a socket 939 or with the 940 for opty's.

you can always upgrade your Graphics card, maybe a 6600GT AGP?

Don't forget about the Turion's also, the Newark would be about the best 754 cpu.

well the fastest 754 processor that i have ever came across was the 3400 i never seen any bigger i think i will just plan on going with socket 939 and quit messing with the 754 because i want room for advancement and i don;t have much room for that with the 754 well thanks for the help

That's better. It runs at 2.6GHz and it's a mobile core, which means it can take more heat, so you should have more room to OC.
