Im gaming at 1280x1024, so i doubt res is going to be an issue.

I do however have a game controller plugged in, so ill try unplugging that.

as for NFS:C, ill try patching the game. its an original install, no patches, so that could be an issue.

are you overclocking through ati tool or rivatuner. I scored almost 11k with xp. (On xp i got 10957)

Im using Rivatuner.

Ive checked all my graphics cards and all. Its running with 16 lanes in pci-e. Thats normal.

with my cpu running 3Ghz, and my graphics card clocked OTT, i get 10082 3DMARKS on 06.

Thats with everything off in the background and aero off, and all USB devices disconnected.

Im gonna resort to trying my memory in different slots and clearing my cmos soon. Its rather frustrating.

Worse still, im considering turning to an Intel system (blasphemy, i know )

Im not sure how this looks on the face of it, but its the best ive managed to get so far. still pushing everything to the limits.

I can't break 10K on my system. the best OC, and this isn't even 100% stable, I can get on my system is 250X12, CPU at 3GHZ and the ram at 1000MHZ. I bench my 320MB 8800GTS at 650/1350/1000 and the best I have got on vista 32bit is 9898.

2000Mhz RAM on a 8800GT = bad.

There was testing on it and even though the RAM can usually run it fine, it ends up deteriorating slowly, more or less killing your card ... Clock it back down. Unless you have the Samsungs and not the Qs, clock it below 970.

Cheers for the heads up. Its been running like that for in the region of a week. I havent done much gaming with it in that timeframe, so here's me hoping everything should be A-OK.

Ill bring it down to about 1950 when i get a chance. Currently away from my comp for a day.

Am i perfectly ok to abuse the shader and core speeds though?
