Hey guys. My new HTPC seems to only show 127.99Gb available on the drive? It shows the rest of the 350Gb+ as "undefined" in Disk Management. Any ideas on how I can unleash the rest of it? I paid for this 500Gb hard drive and I'm not looking to only use 128Gb of it.

The rest of the drive isn't formatted. You simply need to format it (shoudl be able to do it right from you OS or a OS boot disk). It will then be assigned it's own drive letter and be accessible.

What OS? If XP, install SP2.

what file system did u format it to if its fat32 try to format it to ntfs

I'd rather have it all on one drive letter (C) instead of splitting them up into two. I know there's an option for a new partition but I don't want to make a new partition.

It is XP and it has SP2 on it already.

If you want to format it then add it to the existing partition you'll need software to do this. Partition magic works great, there's also free utilities to do this (i just can't remeber what they're called)

You may have to slipstream SP2 into your Windows install disk which isn't a big a deal. DuckieHO is on the right track though, you definitely need SP2. You should have that regardless.

I do have it. I do not really want to format my whole drive and lose everything I have now :\ There must be another way.

Star, the only other thing that I would try would be to download SP2, install it and then get your hands on a copy of partition magic and fix the issue that way. Partition magic isn't free though. Make sure to back up your data before doing this though.
