CPU speed is the king when it comes to AMD processors. I would adjust your memory timings accordantly and see how low you can get them. Use memtest when doing this. I'd advice not to test memory stability in windows because of the threat of data corruption. Did you test your memory at 470mhz(DDR2 940) in memtest? Make sure to run tests 5 and 8 each for a couple of hours.

Good luck
actaully i had it at 960mhz no problem with stock vdimm

so now im running at 280x11= 3080mhz@1.4v 840 htt and 880mhzram @stock vdimm

load temp at 50c

Noobdown, the HTT speed isn't really something you should worry about to much considering most AM2 overclocks like the speed between 1200-1400mhz. You have plenty of room there. Did you test your memory in memtest? What priority are you running in orthos? I prefer to run priority 9 for 8-9hrs. Some other individuals might disagree

Good luck

Those RAM sub timings I mentioned do help some with stability and may even facilitate a lower vcore when OCing at the higher speeds.

BTW, not that you CPU full load tempos is bad, but with the 1.4v it shouldn't get that high. Perhaps you case air flow needs some attention. Wire management or additional fans perhaps.

thanks think3r

duke had the vcore at 1.4 in bios ahowed 1.425 in cpuz with no flucation at all in idle/load time load of 50c (in between 47-50)
dropped the vcore to 1.375 cpu shows 1.408-1.424 max temp of 46-48
idle at 29-30
ambients 22c?

i know air flow is a good thing. how much of a difference will it make where i am watercooling the cpu?(rad is outside the case)

could it be that the vcore was fine before that all i needed was a little vdimm and if so how much should i go up at a time ?
