Exclamation First OC help!

Hey everyone, I just finished building my new system, and wanted some help in getting through my first OC. I attempted to go into the BIOS and raise the multiplier, but when I did it only listed up to the current speed (10.5 x 200) which equals exactly 2.1Ghz. I was looking for a way to change the FSB, but didn't see any opetions that allowed me to do that (although it actually lists the FSB in the BIOS it is greyed out and won't let me change it).
So I need some help here in getting my first OC to be a success!!!
Any help / input would be appreciated!

Most AMD CPUs are 1/2 locked or can only allow the multiplier to be reduced.
The FX and BE or Black Edition are unlocked.

More to come ....

First of all, you may find a PCI or PCIe 16x speed in the BIOS. If you do, set the PCI to 33 and the PCIe 16x to 100. You'll likely only have the PCIe to set and it will likely be on "Auto"
Also, Disable Cool N Quiet when OCing.

I have no idea as to the extent of that MBs BIOS options and can't find any references screen shots on the net. So, you'll have to look for the likes of "Advanced Chip Set" or or what ever and find the CPU bus frequencies on your own, sorry

If you do find the CPU bus frequency setting, you will likely..
Drop the RAM speed setting from DDR2 800 to DDR2 667 if you get RAM instability in an Orthos stability test in "Blend" mode.
Increase the CPU voltage only if needed and WATCH your full load temps and keep below the mid 50c range.

Furthermore, if you would like some reading material, please go to this link. It should take you to the AMD overclocking guides: http://www.overclock.net/amd-general...formation.html

Good luck Gabriel and welcome to the forums
