More Machine Now Than Man
![]() |
Welcome, members of the Socket 939 Appreciation Club, to the very first Club-exclusive CASE MANAGEMENT CONTEST, a private beauty pageant and laid-back competition where we can all share photos of our beloved S939 machines with each other. As a competition, one machine will be judged as the winner, but more than just a competition this is also supposed to be a source of inspiration for everyone who looks at our machines. We hope to inspire everyone who looks at the photos on this thread to make his or her rig as aesthetically beautiful as possible.
So, to get the ball rolling, here are the rules which the judges for this competition have laid out and agreed on: Photo Submissions
Judging
Criteria for Judging
The contest officially starts at 1:00 p.m. PST TODAY, March 20, 2008. It will close at 6:00 p.m. PST Friday, April 18, 2008. We have extended the contest period so that hopefully more entries come in. So snap those pictures, club members! The judging of the entries shall be done from the close of the entry period until a winner has been determined. The contest winner will be announced on April 21, 2008. A final note: There will be prizes awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers! The contest winner will not only have all-important bragging rights, but he/she will be the beneficiary of one of our ultra-generous members who has donated a spare S939 motherboard. But it's not just any S939 motherboard; it's a bona fide legend in S939 overclocking, a DFI UT LANParty nF4 Ultra-D! If you've never overclocked with a DFI LANParty-series motherboard, your life as an overclocker is sadly incomplete! This might be your only chance to get one of these legendary motherboards completely, absolutely FOR FREE! Only the contest winner has this chance in a million. ![]() But it's not just the winner who takes something home. The 2nd Prize finisher will receive a used (but still in very good condition) CoolerMaster RC-631 case. thlnk3r will ship the case to anywhere in the ConUSA (continental USA) out of his own pocket. The 3rd place finisher will receive a laminated case badge which will show either "AMD Athlon X2" or "AMD Opteron," depending on which CPU the winning machine has beneath its cooling system! (Sorry, Sempron and FX-series owners. I don't have either badge to give away.) If any of the top three finishers of the contest are from outside the ConUSA, we will decide at a later time what prize that winner will get. For sure, though, contest winners and high placers will be awarded something for their contributions and achievements. I'd say that's a pretty good bunch of rewards for the effort it takes to snap some shots of your S939 rig. ![]() Let's post those pictures!

I'll break the ice:
Darth Servile, my office machine: ![]() ![]() ![]() Note: This machine no longer has an SI-128 cooling it; thlnk3r now owns that HSF. It is now being cooled by a Thermaltake Big Typhoon. But it's basically the same machine as it appears here. Remember, this is a judge's machine, so it is INELIGIBLE!

Alright well here's my first submission. Working on cleaning the rooms one at a time so I can give decent looking pictures
. Expect more...hence why I'm taking two posts.Name: The Silencer! (HTPC Rig 01) Use: First HTPC rig (used on biggest TV) / FEAR, COD4 game server as well. Brief Description: I can thank txtmstrjoe for helping get this up and running. I'd also like to thank iandroo for helping me figure out my first ever mod....which was done to this case. This machine is hosting a 24/7 COD4 server (pioneerisloud24/7TDM) and a 24/7 FEAR Combat server (pioneerisloud_24/7_TDM). Those are being hosted on the admin name. My name is logged on as well...which runs my HTPC software so I can enjoy movies. What's going on inside this little HTPC rig? ![]() Check it out...HTPC got back! ![]() Little teaser with my first ever mod (see sig for details). ![]() Here's this rig 100% finished (missing a 4" cathode and a card reader): ![]() And here she is doing what she does best....watch movies!!! ![]() PLEASE REMEMBER, THESE PICTURES BELONG TO A JUDGE. HENCE THESE PICTURES DO NOT QUALIFY FOR JUDGING!

Here's my finalized (almost) sig rig! The only thing to ignore is the ugly red SATA cables going right up the middle. I have some 36" cables on the way to hide COMPLETELY behind the motherboard, so just ignore the SATA's.
Name: The Beast!!!! (Opty 165) Use: My main rig, and uber 1337 gamer! Brief Description: I use this rig for everything. Gaming, OCN use, and messengers. It is now officially going to be doing a LOT of racing however with the Logitech Momo wheel. Inside the computer: ![]() Some pretty UV RAM slot covers: ![]() Pretty PCI slot covers: ![]() My freshly applied applique: ![]() Here she is in action!: ![]() My Momo Racing wheel! Please ignore my server which is sitting next to "The Beast". It is not a 939 rig, its a dual 370 rig.: ![]() My entire desk area: ![]() PLEASE REMEMBER, THESE PICTURES BELONG TO A JUDGE. HENCE THESE PICTURES DO NOT QUALIFY FOR JUDGING!
