Default My machine shuts completely off randomly

The machine in my sig continuously shuts off as if the power has gone out. It is random also and happens sometimes after days of being on and sometimes minutes after finishing startup. What could cause this? Power supply maybe?

Its the ram. Are you using 2x2gb or 4x1gb? If its 4x1 its been a known issue. If its 2x2gb its the psu. Tear eevrything apart and make sure the wires are attached tightly

+1 that it's the PSU. Test with another one if possible, and check via Everest what the voltage on the rails is.

Thanks for all the instant replies. It is 4*1 for the RAM. I will check the voltages and set to defaults as my first attempt to fix since its the easiest.

A PSU shutting randomly off with no BSOD is 99.9% of the time a faulty PSU.

It could be temps as well... I'd check your GPU/CPU temps. You should check your NB/SB temps in your bios too.

Also, the CPU and GPU r water cooled with 1/2 tubing and a pump from DD and the temps are on target in BIOS and the water is flowing. The NB and SB chip r OCed slightly and can be overheating so I will just set those to normal and see if the problem persist.
