Default No video output, pls help!

OK so heres the story

My friend tries to unplug these annoying lights on the front of his case... knocks the metal bay cover off and his computer shuts down, and will not power on.

So we replace the motherboard along with processor and RAM upgrades.. computer powers on but no video output from the video card or the on mobo graphics..

So i order a video card cause i figured the old card wasn't compatible with the mobo. Since it did work in my computer. Still no video output..

Need help please!!

Have you tried taking it out of the case (reason for that is to eliminate the chance of a short between the mobo and the case), and trying to run it on the bare minimum parts? I guess I'll assume that you tried different monitors and cables and the like (hopefully?) Did you double check that all of the power was plugged in (no joke, that actually happens, I helped a buddy try to fix his "broken" mobo for about an hour until I figured out he never plugged in the 4 pin power plug), and that everything was seated right?

What exactly was your friend trying to unplug?

Oh and have you checked the PSU?

hopefully we'll be able to track down whats causing this, we just need a little more info first.

Try booting it outside of the case.

Also...any beep codes? If you don't hear any codes, take out all the ram and then see if any codes go off. If not, there is a good change you got a DOA motherboard.
