OMG! someone that had the same problem!

I had a 2GB kit of Crucial BallistiX PC2-6400, it would do exactly the same thing. I bought some Mushkin ram and the problem disappeared. It is DEFINATELY a ram issue although it is a very odd one.

The only thing I could think of was maybe the contacts on the ram were faulty and were oxidizing or something to that effect.

jesus, when I RMA'd my ram the Crucial support guys were baffled.

God this issue cost me SOO much time and troubleshooting.

(compressed air was one of the first things I tried... I practically live by that stuff)

awww, hopefully the set of ram they send back is going to be as equally good as these.
check out my ram OC, tight timing, high freq, and stock voltage.

Krazieaznboi, do you have the memory installed in the yellow slots or the orange slots on your DFI nForce 4 board?

Good luck

Everyone's posts before mine are awesome. If i would have saw this earlier i would have suggested testing all of your things with another system. That is what i have found to be the most effective with a system. Try the ram with another mobo, and visa versa.

Krazieaznboi, that's interesting because the orange slots are typically used for troubleshooting if you're having POSTing issues. It sounds like to me your DFI board is very picky when it comes to your set of OCZ memory. I hope things stay stable.

Good luck
