Xsabrewulf, let us know how the PSU test goes.

It's extremely hard to find a 165 and 170 now. I did however see a Opty 165 at a computer fair not to long ago

Good luck buddy

Xsabrewulf, have a look in the For Sale section. Every now and then someone puts up a S939 for sale.

Good luck

i am trying to format my HDD

I use a boot disk with the WD tools on it to write all zeros to the entire drive...

but after awhile my HDD stops reading and I get a timeout error.

any idea now?

Try swapping the Sata cable with a different one. I know it's a longshot but it may work.

Iceman good suggestion

Xabrewulf, try also another SATA port or if your board has two different controllers then try the other. Do you have another SATA hard drive that you could run for a while to see if the problem reproduces itself?

Good luck

my mobo came with 2 different sata cables

one has a thicker end and says "AWM E101344-z style" and AWM on the plug

the other which i had in says

"E173433-k" with SATA on the plug

they both fit but the other cable is thicker cable... the ends look the same now i look at it but the ends are a differentn shape but both L and same amount of pins.

BTW: no leaking caps

this is gonna be a long thread heh.

when I boot into the WD Diagositic tool... how much of my CPU and RAM would it use?
I dont think its my PSU because doesnt matter if im playing a game for 6 hours or just idle on my desktop it still locks up.
