Exclamation Crysis slow on AMD x2 6000+

i build my pc few month ago. i have AMD x2 6000+ 3.0 Ghz. 4870 video card, A-Data 2x1gb ram ddr2 [5-5-5-18], Antec 650W modular PSU. Biostar TA770A2+ Motherboard, SoundBlaster, midtower case with 2 120mm fans. 640 gb Sata II, 250 gb Sata II. Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

so.. question is: why i can't run crysis on very high? only on medium. i mean ican run it but sometimes it is so slow.. almost like stopping. i hate game when it's not going smoothly. i turned off any AA only trying to go on very high. i run all my other games on very high even with AA all on. i have 1440x900 19" monitor.

thanks

My biggest problem is usually hard drive speed. I don't think my comp can load the textures fast enough, especially when I am in speed mode and run somewhere fast. When I stay in one location long enough, it runs much faster when it is all in ram.

Have you updated the game with all of the patches? Are you using the most recent catalyst drivers from ATI? Those are probably the two top reasons why you'd have problems with gameplay--all your hardware is easily able to play crysis at at least high if not very high (though AA might be iffy)

There's your answer right there. Vista with 2gb of Ram is like splitting one piece of cake between 4 fat kids. It's not a pretty sight

Where most of your problem is you only have one video card even though the 4870 is a great card it's not going to have enough power to run crysis on very high @ 1440x900.

If you toss in another stick of ram, you should be golden.
