BlackOmega, just for clarification "HTT" is the reference clock speed or FSB (which is an Intel term). "HT" is hypertransport or LDT (lightning data transfer).

As stated already, those fluctations with your HTT and HT are fine. Are you sure your Vcore (processor voltage) jumped up to 3.09 volts? It definitely sounds like you're having issues with your software and the way it's monitoring. Does the voltages jump up while in the BIOS?

Good luck

Ok I didnt find any throttling or spread spectrum, but I did find FID/VID change on the jumperfree comfig page. I changed it to manual it opened up my multiplier and core voltage setting. When I did it changed my muiltiplier to 8x @ 1.425v. Since i know it doesnt need to be that high I changed to 1.40v (on auto @9x it runs @ 1.39v) seems to be pretty steady.

As for PCProbe (the temp/volt monitoring software), I ran it simultaneously with speedfan and it seems to be pretty accurate.

Now that my rigs warmed up seems like everythings steady.

Yes it does, but now that my rig is warmed up its relatively steady, only fluctuates .02v.

Dobbie, dont say that dude I just got this one last wed.

Your rig shouldn't have to warm up to get steady volts.
I would at least use a multimeter and check the +12v rail and +5v rails to get a more accurate reading of those.

Your vcore by no means should be jumping up to 3v in bios either, I would say if that vcore jumps up like that in bios looking at the hardware monitor then your vr's on the mb are bad. So are you sure that while in bios you vcore still jumps up and down?

It didnt jump that high in BIOS. It only moves .02v at the moment. Same as the readings on the desktop... Ill have to check it later once its been off for several hours. Ill have to go get my multimeter outta my tool box (Im a grease monkey). And vr? Voltage receptors? Sorry Im kinda new to the computer acronyms. Ask me about any car acronyms I pretty much know them all.

Minor fluctuations like that are normal, nothing to worry about. And vr's are voltage regulators. Don't worry pretty soon you'll know all these nifty little things.

You usually can't trust high or low spikes that software gives you on voltages, a lot of times the software just doesn't interpret the sensors 100% correctly.

BlackOmega, software just isn't as accurate as using a real tool. If you missed my previous post, here is a guide that explains on how to test the voltages: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/guide...ing-guide.html. I'd advice testing while the machine is on, just be very careful not to slip

Good luck

If you're not running into odd things like freezes or shutdowns/blue screens of death (BSOD), then just ignore it. On my desktop at home speedfan reads my +12v line as -15.05v--confirmed with a multimeter as 12.1v.

Actually, it's HyperThreading and is the technology that makes a CPU core appear as two logical processors
