Does anyone know if Gigabyte contacts you when they ship back the RMA, or when they start looking at it?. It's a little annoying because I shipped my PS3 off for RMA on sunday, and they shipped it back to me yesterday. It should arrive in a day or two.

Sunrex, I'm assuming every manufacturer has there own RMA process and timeline. Are you referring to a Playstation 3? They might of actually sent you a brand new unit or refurbished model instead of fixing the other one. That might explain for the quick shipment.

Good luck

Nope, I cant do a repair install. That worked for a while but eventually it wont work anymore. It says theres nothing to repair or something, and yet it wont let me boot up...

I'm running memtest right now, its zipping through my ram like its paper and should be done in a hour or so. I'll have to look into stress testing in the program. No errors yet.

I'm grabbing CPU-Z and then im going to present the information on here.

-edit- My Northbridge does run at 80-110C. But according to Gigabyte tech, they cooked it in a oven to 160 something and it ran stable?. I think its BS personally...

I haven't had time to read all the post on this thread, but have you checked for Viruses. Sometimes a virus will cause data corruption. Sounds like a very strange problem. I hope this helps. By the way, you come to the right place. These oc people are the best there is!!!!

Woah... dec 3rd!!! MILLIONAIRE SHOW TONIGHT ON FOX!!!!.

I was supposed to get my PS3 back on tuesday, instead I was gone during the hour they attempted delivery... and then I was gone the second attempt as well, today. So tomorrow will be the last day before they either ship it back or I have to drive thirty miles to pick it up O.O. WHY UPS, WHY CAN'T YOU DELIVER EARLIER!!!.

But, now the good news. In addition to the little taped slip stating they tried delivering it today they also left another package O.O. NO WAY!. It couldn't be.. could it?. It was!. Gigabyte shipped a new MB to me. It's not the same one - they have the boxing with it. I shipped mine out without packaging.. oh wait, repair. Darn.

..***?. No details on repair?. What was wrong?. HELLO!?... god damn it.

Odds are I will have the issue again then... back to testing!. I'll post again if the problem continues. I'm rather wary of putting my main HDD in the system.. since I've spent a good half a month or so adding crap to it... /grabs the second HDD to reinstall another windows.

Sunrex, try running the same components to see if the issue reoccurs. Are you sure Gigabyte didn't issue you a refurbished motherboard? I'm glad you got it in one piece.

Let us know

Good luck

I love my EeePC. It means I can talk while doing this. So far I have the case setup. Going to put in the second HDD now (WD - issue DID occur on this HDD as well.)

Decided against reinstalling. Swapped the seagate out of the other PC and into this one. So far so good, only had one problem: steam errored out... lets hope that was due to no internet driver at the time.

I haven't tried cold boot yet... and frankly, have no wish to try it right now. At the moment I'm going to go game! YES! FINALLY A DECENT PC FOR GAMING!. Cold boot in the morning usually has better results anyway.

Turns out I dislike that millionaire show.. no idea why *Shrug*.

No issues so far.

Let me confirm this again, turning the fan at 100% won't kill it or wear it out any faster right?. Because I just disabled smart control so my CPU fan is at 100% constantly now.

Updates on temps:

Somethings really bothering me about the GC temp. It's at 54C on CSS 60% fan speed - never used to be like that. Also, at 1680x1050 I'm hardly getting 80FPS on some deathrun maps with no AA. But at other times I hit a good 290-300. Usually 260 though. ***?.

CPU TEMPS!!! FOR ONCE I AM HAPPY WITH AS5!!!!!. at 60% load on both cores (Or something. Total load is 60% anyway) hits around 42C. So in theory I should get a max of perhaps 50-52C under full load!. BEAT THAT!.

After doing this and having CSS running (minimized) in the background CPU temps are 26 on one core and 37 on the other... uh.. ***?. Load appears to be even on both cores.

So.. if I no longer get cold boot issues I now have a theory: Something was wrong with the CPU voltage control or the actual socket.

NB at 84C while CSS is minimized.
