Hmm... upon a cold boot after over six hours of the PC being off, no corruption!. But I did get the boot menu for safe mode and normal... lets hope it was for some other reason then File System corruption.

Sunrex, I'd recommend performing a fresh install of the OS. I understand this is the same install from the previous board but it might be best to just start from fresh. The "Safe Mode" screen may indicate that the computer was not properly shutdown/restarted.
