I've heard the 200Mhz cant run ram at the full 800Mhz, at least not stable due to a limitation on the CPU?. Donno. Read that in the reviews. -FOR MY CPU, not any cpu
__________________ -So perhaps im pushing the ram to much since its set at 800Mhz?. Can you give me some good clock speeds to run on underclocked ram?. Right now im at the recommened 5-4-4-15. But for underclocked im unsure. If that doesnt work, whats the best 2x2GB modules that the MB has support for?. I can look at the supported ram list for the MB but I have NO idea what good ram brand is. Again, 2x2GB since I still want to use a full 8GB on my system. If it is the ram though, ill likely use it on another system ill build. RMA can wait, since I dont appear to have any static bags on hand... (Protection from static, lol. I cant ship it without it D:. Staples and radio shack apparently dont carry them either).... im going to look for more people who have had this issue and I hope find a solution. Edit: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=35435 this COULD be my problem... dont think so, either way the highest setting I see in my BIOS is 25, I dont see the tRFC or Refresh to activate delay in BIOS - what else is it called?. Edit2: PCI bus appears to be set on auto.. hope its good. Edit3: 127 or less is the normal for 2x1, so I would think you should set 327... interesting, mine is 127ish... am I seeing the source of my problems?. Edit4: Printed up a few guides. Going to go home, and hope I messed up somewhere .

I'd recommend going into your BIOS and manually making the changes. Take whatever you can off of AUTO and manually set it. Your factory reference clock speed (HTT) is 200Mhz so you should be able to run that regardless. If you have PC6400 memory then 800Mhz is the right frequency. I don't see a reason for underclocking any of the settings. If you're having troubles POST'ing at stock speeds then there may be a problem with a particular setting in the BIOS or even perhaps some type of hardware conflict. Good luck

whenever you overclock, make sure cool and quiet is off.
my gigabyte board, after clearing the cmos, defaults to CNC ON. this scared the piss out of me because when i tried to overclock even 2mhz on the reference clock, i couldn't boot into windows. ALWAYS disable CNC (not sure if i saw you say anything about this). those power supplies aren't really good for ocing, a buddy of mine might have had the same exact model and was overclocking his phenom, and with a minor v increase on vcore, it fried. other people have also had the same problem with these hecs saying they are not good oc'ers. that case is very small, and those temps are just unbelievable. more than 100c on the nb? ***? never in my life have i seen that lol! are you sure you have the drivers plugged into working ports when in ide mode? ide mode disables some sata ports on my motherboard. (but then again, you pry wouldn't be able to recognize the drive if you tried this). lock the pci bus, pci-e etc. 33mhz for the pci bus, 100mhz for the pci-e bus. that ram timing problem shouldn't affect you, set your motherboard to auto for dram config.

OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P8004GK - Retail
__________________http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227248 Pretty sure thats mine, same timings and specs. I tried calling OCZ support, but the phone just kept ringing until finally a message popped up saying they weren't taking calls currently -.-. No solutions yet... Underclocking at x5 multi and 200 FSB, 400Mhz ram. It _Seemed_ like it worked last night, but then I turned it on this morning (It was set to normal clock, I changed it back to under) and I still got the data corruption... Perhaps its not the hardware at all?. The NB likes to run REALLY hot, I wonder if thats for stability or something?. Since this only happens on cold boots, perhaps it needs a temp of 80+ F to boot without any issues?. My room temp is around 50-60 in the morning. Edit: My thanks to the person who wrote the AMD general overclock guide, loved it!. Also loved the ram guide, and the charts. Thanks!... it didn't solve my issue though >.>.

Just to clarify, your room ambient temperature ranges from 50F -60F? You may be experiencing a "cold bug". All though highly unlikely but it is possible. Good luck

.Everything has been at stock, though I've had one or two things on auto. I've seen suggestions for turning off the spread spectrum (disable it). I cant find it in my BIOS though >.>. Any ideas on where it is?. I cant do much with everything in this small case. I'm going to remove the MB tray and put it on my wood (It is slightly polished, heres to hoping the tray will protect from static!) desk. So I can see everything. Edit: http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ga-m...-issues-27533/ Nanoheads post is interesting.. I never thought to update the RAID driver because I dont USE raid, but if it includes updates for ACHI.. and im assuming IDE... it could perhaps solve my problem. I hope.

![]() I looked over your manual and couldn't find anything related to spread spectrum so I do apologies for that. It's recommended that you disable that option if you're overclocking. If the option is not available then I wouldn't worry about it. Let us know how the testing goes outside of the case. Were you ever able to view the event viewer to see if there was any error messages? Good luck

Out of case went better then expected. It actually booted up without frying!. Spread spectum appears to be disabled anyway. I can enable it - and I did - but nothing seemed to change. I tried another PSU, same problem. I have to remove everything but the MB and HDD's from the list now. I would have removed the HDD's, but the seagate made a sound when I moved it from sideways to flat. I'm pretty sure the head crashed against the disk. I also noticed that the SATA cable isin't fully connected to the connector on the Seagate drive. It is, but not like it should be. Very small spot is open showing the HDD connector. I'll try installing Vista on the WD drive alone. Heres a listing of what I've changed in the BIOS: Award software international - F5 revision (My bios version) Bios settings: MB intelligent tweaker: HT Link width: Auto (What the hell is this?) HT Link Frequency: 1000Mhz (1.0 Ghz) VGA Core Clock Control (disabled) Cpu clock ratio: x15 Cpu frequency (210) Pci-E clock (100) Memory clock: (DDR 800) DDR2 voltage control +0.3V (2.100V) Cpu voltage 1.350 (appears to go up to 1.470 under load) DRam configuration: 5T 4T 4T 15T 2T 3T 327.5ns (Not default, I set this higher due to ram size) 327.5ns (Same as above) 75ns (slot not in use) 75ns (slot not in use) 6T 3T 25T 3T Skip DQS Disabled Disabled Advanced Bios Features: Internal graphics mode disabled peg disabled disabled press enter cdrom hard disk disabled disabled on setup disabled disabled 0 Advanced chipset features: IGX configuration: Framebuffer location: below 4G. NB Power Management Auto SB700 spread spectrum disabled Your going to have to actually SEE the BIOS to know what this is. I just copyed the specs since I wrote it down. The strange thing I found was when it got to the list of everything connected when booting... I saw this: SMBus CNTRL: NA Not sure if thats exact wording. Apparently, I have no SMBus control.... going over to check OCZ forums now.

Let us know how the installation goes on just the WD drive. What options are available within, "HT Link width"? Good luck

Off the top of my head?. 16bit and 32bit. I think. I dont know if thats right or not.
__________________I didn't run the HDD when I moved it!. WD has the same issue... corrupt.... *Bangs head on counter* also, OCZ help didn't do anything. Changing ram voltage and 197 didn't do ****. Hurray!. /goes to check OCZ forum again. Simon from OCZ just told me the sweet spot for my ram. I'll try it out, see if that helps. If not, im going to throw my MB out the window and watch it hit something on the way down. Then lawl when it breaks into pieces. (not really... 4+ months of this however, will piss anyone off. Actually... it would piss anyone off enough to just give up on it, I however love challanges and have lots of spare time!)
