Probably the PSU.

That is misleading... I had a trojan infect a new install of xp within an hour because I didn't install an AV and firewall before windows update... and yea a trojan can remotely reboot a system if it feels threatened.

try to run task manager... and regedit... if it gives you an error you are definitely infected.

Also go to the root of a hard drive and make all files visible... look for "Resycler" notice the incorrect spelling.

I say PSU as well, but it could also have a faulty power button.

Then stop looking at porn... I run Windows unprotected and have been clean... No malicious files.

Also, the problem is his PSU. (Friend IRL)

lol... yeah... you caught me. NOT. nsilva=FAIL

That virus is doing the rounds right now google it. And you can get it from windows update... Once it infects one HD it can transfer to your other HDs,flash drives, etc... used on that comp and the cycle continues. Currently there is no cure from any of the major antiviruses.

Oh yeah... Notice I said "possible trojan". People are quick to mock such reasons as the cause.
