Good lad! Now go and play nicely on the Disney website... And if you're a really good boy santa will bring you a proper computer next year... Maybe an Intel Core2 if your lucky.

could be drivers too. When I upgraded to the newest nvidia drivers my computer would randomly shut down because the display driver would crash. The only way I was able to determine what it was was by looking in the event log to check for errors. Might what to give that shot if you have not yet.

There was a worm about 3 years back that could get in if your Windows wasn't protected. I forget the name of it. So you don't have to be looking at porn sites to get infected. And if fact, one of the symptoms was shutting your system down every minute or so. I doubt he has this though. I beleive it was the Sasser worm I'm refering to.

If you think you don't have enough juice. Unplug your CD rom drive and any extra stuff and see if it still does random reboots.

As for trojans there are literally thousands that can shut your pc down. But to be honest, I think the problem here is the cheap power supply. I want my +rep if it turns out to be a virus/trojan/worm.

Just to note the Coolmax CX-550B (all though it's quality is unknown) has plenty of power on the 12volt rail (35 amps). Unless the unit is faulty I doubt this is the problem. You're only running a single drive and a 7600 which is not that demanding. Your entire rig idle probably draws between 120-150 watts. In order to rule out your hard drive and memory being the culprit, I would perform a diagnostic on both items. For your memory you can download memtest and burn the .iso as an image to a CD. Boot to the CD and run tests 5 and 8 each for at least 20 minutes. For your drive, download the Western Digital Lifeguard diagnostics tool and perform a full surface scan on the drive. This will look for bad sectors. Let us know Good luck
