Are you building a separate rig? Or upgrading?

What went wrong with intel?

You might want to consider getting this pair of 4870's if you don't plan on getting another 4870X2. I think 2x 4870's work slightly better than a 4870X2.

I forgot your WC your GPU, so maybe it could be cheaper with just one card.

Have you considered going i7?

mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128375
cpu - http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0300438
ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231222

~$70 more than what you were considering

Phenom II is great for gaming... i7 provides virtually the same performance in gaming than a midly OCed Phenom II.

If you're not doing any 3D rendering or other super insane multi-tasking stuff, i7 brings nothing much over a PhenomII...

Looks like a great build!

You could go i7 but that would bump the price up quite a bit as you would need to swap the RAM and mobo for more expensive alternatives.

I would personally go for the GA-MA790X-UD4 as the only difference between AMD 790GX/FX and 790X is the missing onboard GPU; which you wont need anyway. You could save a little more money and grab the Phenom II 720 BE. It's suppose to overclock well.

Good luck

I'd personally for the m3a79-t deluxe over the gigabyte mobo.. with 750 sb for better oc potential. used the asus myself and took me to 4.0 ghz
