Default running slower than it should...

This is my first build and it seems like it's running a lot slower than it should:

MB: Asus M3A78-T
CPU: Phenom II 920 2.8ghz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD4850 512mb
RAM: 4gb Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 (2x2gb)
HDD: WD Caviar Black 500gb (32mb cache)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1

I ran a trial of PCMark Vantage and received a little under a score of 6000. I also tried running 3DMark Vantage and my system did not keep up with it even on lower settings (under 10fps). I'm entirely new to bios tweaks, overclocking, and Windows Vista as well. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

is that a new reformatted and freshly installed windows? if so, you might update your bios. and download the latest drivers. you should be getting something like 10k at least at default settings.

Thanks for the replies. It is a fresh install on a new hdd. All components are brand new. Almost positive I have the latest bios update and updated drivers. I turned on cool and quiet to test it once, but then shut it off.

Should I post any specs from a system analysis tool? I have Everest Ultimate and CPU-Z. I'm not sure what exactly could be causing this slowdown, but I'm almost certain it has nothing to do with my operating system (been having this problem from the beginning). Maybe some of the hardware is faulty or there's an issue with the settings in my bios? I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

I can see one issue already. It claims that the max bandwidth is 400mhz when it should be 800mhz.

The ram is DDR2 so just multiply the frequency by 2. 400 x 2 = 800

Do those stats I posted show any reasons for my system slowdown?

I get these notifications in SiSoft Sandra:

Warning 100: Large memory sizes should be made of Registered/Buffered memory.

Tip 2546: Large memory modules should be ECC/Parity.Large memory sizes should be made of Registered/Buffered memory.

Tip 2546: Large memory modules should be ECC/Parity.

Warning W236 - Processor core voltage (Vcore) is higher than rated maximum. Unless the reported value is incorrect or the processor is a different type that is not correctly detected, the voltage is higher than it should be. If you’re over-clocking the processor you may have pushed too far.

I also forgot to mention the fan that came with my processor was defective, so I have a Sunbeam CR-CCTF installed instead. It does not work when plugged into the designated cpu fan header, so I have it plugged into a chassis fan header instead.
