I thought the FX-57 was a dual core CPU?

It's worth it, I'd do it.

you could still swap that single core for a dual on that 939 system. that was my dream system when I was first getting into high end computers.

I remember the days when I used to drool over that chip. It's a beast.

But, that was four years ago.

If you don't use the xbox, go for it.

OK!! So i picked up the system this morning! AND I got more then i thoughT!

For the RAM i Got 4x 512 MB DDR Corsair XMS-3500's-- I thought i would only get 2x 1 GB sticks of some sort of no name ram. But that was the big sell off for me. When i seen the config. i said "sure, lets trade stright up" we did. Without no problems im happy, hes happy.

Now, Instead of a 8800GTX would an 3870 work better in a sytem setup like this.

Im willing to trade my friend one of my GTXs for his 3870. Hes fine with the trade. should i do it??

I'd hold on to the GTX over the 3870 for sure. That G80 core was/is a beast. 3870 barely keeps up with an 8800GT and that's only in a few games iirc. Of course your friend wants that trade lol

lmao! of course hes all into it, Im just thinking about performace balance, like would it be less of a bottleneck with the 3870 card rather then the 88?

Not a bad deal. Keep the gtx unless you plan on hitting 1ghz with the 3870.

This goes without saying but
