Well, I know the PSU will be working.
The cards should be ok.
The RAM (which, I cant use if I get a new PC) should be working too.

I put a stick in my gf's PC (the one i'm using), and the rest I may put it my mom's PC, or give to a friend.

The HDDs should work for a while, but above all else I need to get a new one, because their lifespans have surely been significantly decreased by this episode. (she also kicked the PC over unto its side once before)

Same goes for the DVD drive I just got. BUT, its fairly new, so that should work for a good while.

MOBO is skewered, and HDDs tainted, as well as case.
But with the mobo gone, it means a new CPU/RAM in addition to a mobo :\

But, I'm still trying to bloom some optimism.

Hey grim even with the lack of jobs in Jamaica you could always find work on the internet. Being a drop shipper on ebay is a good example of this. The business requires no investment, and the merchandise is shipped directly from the manufacturer or distributor to your clients worldwide. You can make a few hundred to a few thousand a month only investing an hour a day. It could easily put a replacement signature rig in your hands within 6 months.

HM! -thats a thought. Never heard of that one - I'll look into it some more.

Prob is - I dont have a proper PC to browse the internet :|
Mom's PC is a story (really intermittent internet connection), and inaccessible at times.

I think if I ask around / hussle for a few months though, I'll get something up again (that can play CS:S).
A new friend wants to help me out, but the first thing I need to do, is start hussling towards a Phenom mobo.

Gives me a chance to settle into school properly come next month I guess :\

The more I look at it - I realize the impact it must have had, and the shock the HDD's must have gotten.
i'm really more perplexed about the HDDs than anything else.

Your hard drives can take a lot more than you think. Was it running at the time? If not they should be fine.

believe me - only so much and no more.
A lot of manufacturers actually specify, in joules the maximum shock the drives can sustain, after which it is most likely that something will become slackened / dislodged.

But even if that is not immediate, if you know how these things work, it has undoubtedly reduced its lifespan.

Truth be told, majority of the drives I've repaired in the past, have either been downed by surface problems, OR, failed components on the controller board.
But HDDs HATE shock - movement or not.

But woi is me - the motherboard ... :\
The PCIE slot is shattered.

Perhaps, just a brake in the circuit, something I can trace with a MM and resolder/bridge.
hmm!...

I shall investigate!
