I'm sure he can pick those out for himself, but if not. I would just add to the first intel build:

1 MX500 mouse by logitech - ~40$
1 ABS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - ~50$ (or whatever logitech membrane u can find - maybe a G15 logitech)
1 Set Logitech 2.1 Z-4 Speakers - 70$

Depending on the resolution you want you can find them that low. He's probably going to want more than 1280 resolution I would imagine. You can find a small 1650 though for easily 120.

You could go with a Phenom X3 720, instead of a quad core, and unlock the 4th core to save some money.

Not all the Phenom X3 720's can be unlocked. Remember, they disabled them for a reason. So, they probably have a defective core. If your lucky, you get a properly working quad.

I'd just buy a quad just to be sure you get a quad core.

This is a good build. You do NOT need the bolt thru kit if you get the Dark Knight, it comes with one. I will tweak this build a bit for you in a few

Combo deal saved you some money, and got a better board
Tweaked!!
