Desktop 6 core, sorry but you may be misinformed.
The Socket F (1207) is for server MBs as far as I know ATM and have no knowlege of a DT socket 6 core planed.

AMD will always be better for the money spent. I was reading that most intel chips and boards don't even support sli or crossfire x16, it will take them to x8 until you spend more money.

my msi board cost $115 open box and $170 for cpu and $30 for CM heatsink and im running 3.7ghz and capable of crossfire at true x16 speeds. and 2 more pci-e slots if I want Quad-fire @ x8 speeds.

I admit the intels are impressive on overclocks, but for the money they better be. I mean an E8400 still costs as much as my quad core phenom II 945 did. That is .

AMD takes the value crown from Intel because they offer comparable speed at a cheaper price and provide high quality motherboards for their platforms at a cheaper price than Intel at the moment.

Sorry I just wanted to add to the awesomeness that is AMD. I know the core unlocking isn't a guarantee.

Becuase some cannot unlock all 4 cores and The 955 will still outperform the 550 with unlocked cores. Doh

Are you kidding me? i7 920 is $199 and a x58 motherboard can be bought for $200. I understand it is not the "best" mobo for i7 920 but that combo out performs Phenom II 965 for maybe $50-$100 more with CPU/mobo combo.

BTW, AMD will not beat Intel until they develop new architechture. It is rather easy to see.

I never said AMD was trying to beat Intel . I said they take the value crown . I actually spec'd out a system last week, and anyone who does their research would know that it costs about 100-200$ more to build a i7 rig compared to a phenom 955 rig. Secondly, I am not talking about a bleeding edge performance, I am talking about the best value for your money. The 955 OC'd easily spars with the i7 920 OC'd in every game. I got my 955 for 190$ and my motherboard for 80$, you can't do that with an i7 rig, not to mention you have to buy tri-channel ram, which costs more than a normal 2x2gb kit. Most of the i7 920 combo's aren't that good if you ask me, I know, I did my research for about a month before buying this rig I have now. So, I disagree with you entirely. I know I got the best rig for the money and will get just as good frames with it as someone with an i7 920 give or take a frame here and there, while saving 200$.

Secondly, why are you defending Intel like I'm stupid or something, you have almost the exact same rig.
