Default Thoughts on the athlon 7750

At stock speeds, do you think its better than the intel e6400? I oc'd the 7750 to 3ghz and i keep getting a blue screen after a few hours when i open/close programs, it ran nicely for a few days without blue screens before. i underclocked to ram alone, but i still keep getting blue screened, the screen only appears for a split second, so i dont get to see anything, i'm running everything at stock now, waiting to see what will happen, any ideas?

Blue screen of death generally indicates an unstable overclock.

When you overclock, you should run a stress tester program to make sure your overclock is stable. I don't think you need to up the voltage @ 3.0ghz, but it might be needed. Also no need to underclock your ram if you are just upping the multiplier when you overclock.

bsod indicates usually your ram is unstable...
check and see what the timings and the command rate are at...
also what frqzy is the ram @?
system lockup is usually the cause from unstable cpu, so pump a lil more volts if that is the case.
prime95 is a great stressing program as well as orthos for dual cores.
I would suggest taking your ram down by 1x multi and see if it still happens
when you are trying to find your max cpu o/c you run your ram low,ht low, and nb low... as to eliminate them from possible problems
o and please fill in your system specs, so we all know what all you have in your system.
and welcome to OCN!

At stock it goes head to head with the E5200.

Change vcore to 1.35v , nb to 1.25v , multiplier to x15 and have fun . You can go to 3.1 - 3.2 ghz with this setup .
