Heh how much games actually benefit or use eax 5? I always thought eax 5 was abit gimmicky..I had a Eax 4.0 before didn't actually notice anything from the games i played unless eax 5 was a big jump

It is a closed standard gimmic.

Not many games use it, and quiet a few games use either EAX or Open AL and it's your choice.

That is IF they actually support any form of hardware acceleration based on sound cards. Many games do not even. And you just choose your sound setup (IE 5.1/2.1/2.0/Headphones. )

I'd like to learn a little more about this then. I was told that they can translate on an EAX 2.0 level, but just about any on board audio can do that as well. But when it came to current EAX 5(?) it couldn't translate it.

I'd love to be corrected on that though, that only opens up more options for me as well.

Hmmmm very interesting, sound setup will be with logitech x240 2.1, but going start using my new Sennheiser hd 555 when they arrive reason for getting a sound card at least

Edit: What there to look for in a sound card anyways? The chip set they use(x-fi, cmedia)? Or just plain listening see if it good? (stupid question lol)

Although you won't get an awful lot more performance by going with a more expensive board. Maybe an extra few mhz on the NB but nothing you'll actually notice except in benchmarking.

TBH I'm having to run at 1.55v to get 3.8ghz stable, but I'm not willing to spend the bucks on another motherboard to find out if its my chip or my mobo. I have seen some people running at similar overclocks and lower voltages on this board (3.7@1.45 for example) so I'm kinda leaning more towards the chip at this time.

Well it was deal that i couldn't pass up about 90$ for a used 6gb ddr3kit vs 100+ for a brand new 4gb kit...

Edit:Hm interesting may i see a cpu-z validation trying get a rough idea what to expect BTW did you add any sort of aftermarket cooling for the VRM area?

I just ordered the GA-MA770T-UD3P with a 550 BE. Should receive it tomorrow and be putting it together this weekend. Check out this excellent review at Xbit - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/mai...770t-ud3p.html
