Default Is my setup any good ?

Hey guys how are y'all

I know my PC is probably far outdated even if I built it this year (had the mobo in its box since 2007 tho)

I'm wondering if it's still good for the games to come
Most of all, will it be enough to play Moder Warfare 2 on max settings 1920x1080 ?? I do it on MW1 without any problem...

And, if I wanted to upgrape let's say my MOBO and a new CPU, any recommendations ? (With price hehe)

I'd like to upgrade once in a while... like if I could use my CPU on a much greater MOBO and then someday(year lol) change the CPU chip (a mobo that would run my current CPU and the best of best too)

thanks boys (and girls) I'm kinda not so informed on all that stuff
I appreciate you help

I had a 5400+ athlon dual core and a 9800GT, it played COD4 maxxed no problem. I am not envisioning MW2 being that much more demanding. Look for a new or used GTX260 if you want to be sure. COD4/5 play pretty smooth on just about anything nowadays. YOu could try and OC your CPU some as well. That will get you some extra headroom to pump data to a better GPU, because it may bottleneck if you throw a GTX200 series card in there.

You should be fine with 2xAA and everything else set the highest, and it will look great. That is unless MW2 is way more demanding than COD4 and W@W, which I don't believe it will be. You are good to go, dude.

AA is anti-aliasing. It basically sharpens the lines making them look more realistic, the higher the AA the better it looks, however the more it will cut into your fps.

I'm guessing MW2 is going to be about the same graphics wise as COD4. They are limited by the console's GPU's so if you could run 4 and W@W maxed you should be good.

At stock there definitely will be some bottleneckage happening.

But at least you can recommend him to add more voltage to overclock his CPU higher.

the bottleneck would be on his cpu as it is outdated. A bottleneck is a limiting component, ie his cpu. His 6000+ is fine for a not so powerful gpu, but by throwing in say a gtx 260 the cpu will limit the cards potential, thus getting very little performance over the card he has now.
