That's why I went back to DDR2 lol. The only difference is from benchmarks

Thanks dopamin3, I looked and its the same price so I think I will go with the board you suggest. I was also wondering about the phenom 2 x3 720, would that be a good bargain if i can unlock the 4th core? Just trying to save as much as I can.

Sweet, well I pulled the trigger on nearly the exact setup that afro suggested originally. am3 x4 cpu, 4gb pc3 ram and the msi board. The vid card is just a lil different tho. I got this one.

Overall I think I will be very happy with this rig. My only other concern was that my psu would run it, but from what I understand it shouldnt be an issue. If anyone has any other feedback on that though I'd appreciate it

That video card is fine. I just picked that $179 one because the price was the same as the one you had originally picked. In fact, you probably made a smarter choice getting the $189 one because the $179 one I linked first looked like it had a flimsy non-reference cooler.

Your PSU should be fine. It isn't the best around but it should do the trick. And with the Ripjaws and the GD70, your setup should be screamin'.

Off-topic: I can't believe I used the word " screamin' ". I feel like a d-bag now.

Yeah, you were pretty cool till then.

Seriously tho, thanks for the suggestions, looks like it will be a nice upgrade from what I had and should last me awhile with good upgrade-ability as well.

You rock man!
